Don't tell me you love me, show me.

The other day my daughter was put in her room as punishment for disobeying. She didn't like it much and responded with "Nobody Loves Me". Oh how that hurt to hear my child say such a thing. I began to tell her how much I loved her and I showed my love for her by doing things like keeping her fed, clothed, clean, giving her hugs and kisses, etc.

How many times do well tell God that we love Him, yet we do the opposite of what He says? He tells us to love our fellow man, yet we choose who we show love to. He tells us to forgive, but we still hang on to high school hate and we've been out of school 20+ years. God says don't let the sun go down on your anger, yet we can stay upset with a loved one for days or even months.

God loves us so much that He separates our sins as far as the east is from the west. If we're tired, He says come into Him and He will give us rest. God even created us in His own image. He showed us the greatest act of love by sending His Son to die for our sins. He doesn't just say that He loves us, He shows us.

God's character is the ultimate example that we can look to and strive towards to show love with our actions. When showing love, there are no respect of persons. We should show love to everyone in our actions and in truth. We don't want to live a life full of words but no action.
