I was talking to one of the staff members on the cruise, and she asked how old the girls were. She then told me that she had a 7 month old back home. I'm not sure where home is, but I know that her baby isn't on the ship bonding with her Mother. I thought to myself, what a sacrifice she's making to provide for her family. I don't know what jobs are available in her hometown, but this Carnival cruise ship is her current employer. Her job requires sailing months at a time, and the internet signal isn't always the best; nevertheless, it's all that's available to communicate with family while at sea. I began to look at myself as a parent. What sacrifices am I making for my children? Am I always being the best example? Do I always show them how a Christian woman should carry herself? Do I exude strength and confidence? Is my decision making taking into account their future? Do I practice being quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger? Do I go without so they can have? The truth if the matter is, not everytime do I sacrifice. Not everytime do my actions have their best interest at heart; but praise God for the redeemer who made the ultimate sacrifice. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Our Father sent Jesus to die for us all. He gave everything so we could live in eternity with Him. He knew we would sometimes be selfish and make wrong choices; therefore, He gave His Son to be bruised for our transgressions. We can live because Jesus died. We have hope because Jesus paid it all. By His stripes, we are healed.🙌🏾 We won't always get it right, but let’s pray that we strive everyday to be more like Jesus. Our shining light just might be the example that someone needs to continue to keep moving forward. OptimisticallyKe....that's me
